Vacation Ready

Now that tax season is done, you should reward yourself with some rest, relaxation and a well-deserved vacation! Yes, that’s right, the ‘v’-word: Vacation! If you are among the 42% of Americans that did not take any vacation time in 2014, according to a survey conducted by Skift (http://skift.com/2015/01/05/travel-habits-of-americans-41-percent-didnt-take-any-vacation-days-in-2014/), that should change this year!

Vacations can be beneficial because they give your mind and body time to rejuvenate. We spend so much of our time in the office, that the weekends are not always sufficient enough to reset ourselves so that we can re-enter the workplace with bright new ideas and enthusiasm. Vacations can often result in a lower chance of an employee getting burned out and/or performing badly on the job.

If you haven’t taken a vacation in a while, there are a number of great resources at your fingertips. An awesome vacation can be planned by using travel websites, visiting hotel and/or your desired destination websites and even by browsing websites that feature discounted goods and services. With online services, planning a vacation does not have to be tedious, complicated or a frustrating process.

Start thinking about a place you’d like to go (preferably somewhere that is not your home or work), the budget you’d like to spend and the timeframe you’d like to take your vacation. Consider all of these factors to start planning/browsing/calling and before you know it, your vacation will be under way!

Again, too many Americans do not take vacations, if this is you, take some time for yourself and your family this year and start planning your summer vacation. You deserve it.
